BlueSky Remarkable Furled Tapered Leaders
  • Hand-woven: Each BlueSky Remarkable Furled Tapered Leader is hand woven in the U. S. from over 90 feet of premium nylon material. Every leader is individually inspected and tested before packaging to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Amazing Casting: BlueSky Remarkable Furled Tapered Leader can be cast by itself, right out of the package - just like a fly line. Using one will instantly improve one's casting. There is nothing like it.
  • Durability and Life: Designed for anglers who want a leader that LASTS, the life of our Furled Tapered Leader is measured in SEASONS while the life of conventional mono leader is measured in DAYS or even HOURS.
  • Convenient: No more rebuilding short leaders, untying wind knots or changing leaders during a hatch. The furled leader allows the angler to tie on tippet sections as the ONLY leader adjustment necessary.
  • Delicacy: No other leader can present a dry fly with the delicacy of the furled leader. It lands on the water like a feather. Check out Darrell Martin's great book "Micropatterns" to see what he thinks and says about the great benefits of using a furled leader.
  • Furled Tapered Construction: Superior to mono leaders because it provides a vastly improved mass-to-length ratio resulting in excellent turnover and extension of tippet and fly
  • Solid Core: The solid core of the furled leader does NOT collect or hold water like a braided leader will. This leader lifts off the water and cast with NO spray of water droplets. Braided leaders can "splat" onto the water when cast.
  • Perfectly Balanced: Tapers are woven at critical points resulting in leaders that provide graceful turnover. They are balanced to match the line weight you are using.
  • An environmental alternative - Did you ever notice the discarded monofilament on our rivers and lakes? One would guess that some of it is leaders tossed out because they got too short or stiff from rebuilding, or doomed by the dreaded wind knot. Alas a solution. BlueSky Furled Leaders are not throwaway leaders. When your tippet gets short from changing flies, simply add a new section. And the possibility of a wind knot ruining your furled leader is reduced to near zero! Oh, please don't forget to pick up that discarded mono.
  • Shock Absorbing: Our leaders have a built-in stretch factor of 10-15%. This feature helps to assure one lands that once-in-a-lifetime fish and also makes it possible to use lighter, more delicate tippets. When one grasps the leader on both ends and gently pulls, one can feel the leader stretch a little. This built-in shock absorbing effect protects the leader and helps prevent a fish from breaking off and escaping during unexpected runs.
  • It's Supple!: The suppleness of the furled leader reduces drag like no other while allowing the angler to use shorter leaders to gain better control. Compare the furled leader to the stiff coil at the butt end of a conventional mono leader. Incidentally, the stiff coil of the mono leader acts as a spring that can pull your fly back 4-8 inches after you cast, creating an unnatural movement of the fly.

BriteSpot Strike Indicator Leaders

  • Hand-tied: Each Strike Indicator Nymphing Leader is hand-tied in the U. S. using premium quality materials. Every leader is individually tested and inspected before packaging.
  • Hi-Visibility Strike Detector: The brightly colored strike detector is tied at the end of the leader. Tie on a piece of tippet behind this detector using an improved clinch knot. You have created a 90 degree angle from the water's surface to the river bottom - WHERE THE FISH ARE. See diagram.
  • Perfectly Balanced: The Nymphing Leader is about 56 inches long and will cast very nicely. The tapers built into each leader means it is perfectly balanced for use with a range of rod and line sizes.
  • Durable: Like our Ruth's Furled Leaders, these leaders are tough. By simply snipping off the used tippet, you can store the leader in its original package and use it again.
  • Clear Instructions: Each leader comes with complete instructions on how to use this leader to become a good nymph angler.
